It is time for a new beginning.

Michigan has suffered the brunt of a devastating recession. Over the last ten years, we have seen unemployment rise to over 14%, and have watched as local businesses close their doors forever, and residents leave in record number to find work in other states. Flawed policies by the outgoing administration have led to higher taxes and a larger government..

We must get Michigan's residents working again. We cannot continue to do the same thing we have always done, and expect a different result. It is not the job of government to create jobs, but to foster an atmosphere where jobs can be created - by lowering taxes for all, and ensuring that government regulations don't erect barriers that stifle the creativity and growth of our entrepreneurs and business owners.

It is time to get the job done.

We must eliminate waste. For too long, politicians have given lip-service to ending waste, while we are forced to tighten our own belts at home. We know what cost-cutting really looks like. An effective and efficient government targets unnecessary spending at all levels, and rewards departments for the proper use of appropriated funds. Money saved will be used to fund Michigan’s constitutional priorities, including education, transportation, public safety and the protection of our natural resources.

It is time to elect Nancy Jenkins for State Representative of District 57.
